After taking the former South Carolina defensive end, Jadeveon Clowney with the first overall pick of the NFL draft, the Houston Texans announced the official placement of Clowney on the injured reserve list for the remainder of the season.
Multiple teams were interested in Clowney however the Texans took the chance. Clowney had prior injury history in college, however the Texans decided to gamble with Clowney and only got to see him play for 4 games this season.
Clowney had sports hernia surgery in June, shortly after signing his rookie contract. In August, Clowney suffered a concussion during a practice. Clowney then tore the meniscus in his right knee in the first half of the Texans’ season opener against the Redskins. He had arthroscopic knee surgery the next day.
