What’s Next? (My First Article)

Hey guys!

I know it’s been a while since you’ve seen some new posts from me on the #PTP site. Well I promise you, there is a very good reason behind that. If you haven’t heard or seen by now, I have officially moved out of Atlanta.

I accepted a job at the Valdosta Daily Times in Valdosta, Georgia as a Sports Reporter and I could not be happier.

I am working hard to find a happy medium between the newspaper work I am required to do for work and the work I do to keep #PTP running smoothly. Just know that #PTP will continue.

The show is currently on a film break but will resume very soon, so don’t worry!

An exclusive preview of the show will be dropping within the next two weeks and I am so excited to show everyone what I (and the others) have been working on.

Meanwhile…..check out my very first published article in the Valdosta Daily Times <—- here!

Please send all #PTP story ideas to me via the #PTP Feedback page!

Each day is a blessing….challenge yourself to refrain from the hustle of everyday chaos that induces your stress. Worry is the mold that constantly attempts to enter the bread of soulful understanding, providing everything besides the nourishing jewels hidden under the rock of impatience, thus weakening your very consciousness .. but i digress. The challenge remains within the coronary channels that represent your individual bloodstream, exploring any and all boundaries it may pass by.. take heed to these words as you reflect on getting over instead of just gettin by.. at times i cry for my people that have fallen by the wayside, living life on a carousel, trapped in the eternal circle of confusion as the present continues to change, a spirit of the past they remain.. future trials are delusions of grandeur, as being one with the old, few enjoy the risks of the bold generation who feel as tho they have something to prove, just as the young lion cub embarks on his first hunt, as the adolescent eagle receives its first prompt to leave the nest.. it is the nature of survival that when faced with feats unknown, only the strong in mind and heart take the throne of wisdom, as they are the individual in history known to overcome the test.

Ariane and Kyler Celebrating their Graduation/22nd Birthday

I just want to send a special congratulations to my two lovely lady friends from VSU, Kyler Dessau and Ariane Griffin, on accomplishing something that a lot of people don’t: Graduating From College!

I personally can’t wait to see you ladies walk across the stage, but before that comes…..I can’t wait until the “Black and White Affair” at the Loft. A classy event filled with tons of fun, drinks and “turnt” music! All of VSU should come out and support them on this day! Image

But it gets better! #PTP is very excited to announce that we will be in Valdosta filming at this very event! And it gets EVEN better. Two of the newest cast members of #PTP aka “Past The Pen” will be revealed!

So mark those calendars! July 26th at the Loft in Valdosta and even better: it’s FREE!

Google Play Releases the “Angry Trayvon” App (-___-)

While the synopsis  of the game, which involves “Trayvon Martin” going on a world tour killing bad guys, seems fun to play, Google may have taken this one a little too far.

trayvon martin

In the heat of the Trayvon Martin trial, this game has been released as a form of entertainment.

Is the game insensitive to the current case going on? Yes, without a doubt. Having an “angry Trayvon” walk around killing people with daggers and guns is disgusting to me.

But by all means, you can check out the game for yourself, or flag and report it as distasteful, your call. The app is free to download and can be found on the “Google Play” store. Here is the link to the game if you want to add your own opinion to google’s comment log. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=air.AngryTravon

Howard Student Slain in a Late-Night Assault

It sadness me to see how much violence goes on in the world today. And not just ordinary violence, but violence that results in losing young African American males.

The latest case comes in the form of the assault and murder of a Howard University student.

The victim was Omar Sykes, a student of the university and a member of my fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega. According to university officials, Sykes and another student, were approached by “unknown suspects” and assaulted right outside the Howard campus.

As of now there is no confirmed motive of the murder. The second student is currently being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, including head trauma from apparently being struck with a handgun.

The D.C. police are looking for two suspects: one about 5-foot-10 and weighing about 210 pounds, wearing all black; the second is described as being 6-feet tall and wearing a white shirt. The D.C. police are offering a $25,000 reward for any leads to assist in the arrest of the people suspected of the crime. Call (202) 727-9099 if you are in the Washington D.C. or Howard area with any leads on this case.

In due time, I hope this crime can be solved and justice can be served. I send my condolences out to the family and friends of Omar Sykes, and wish the other victim, the best in their recovery.
