“Picture This”: The women of once legendary Pop group, Danity Kane, may be going back to their “Show-Stopping” ways.
If you don’t know what “Danity Kane” is, here’s a look inside the “Making of the Band”. The group was formed by none other than Sean “Diddy” Combs. The women were selected through 2 seasons of the show, and were formed in 2005 on a special edition of TRL.
Danity Kane consisted of 5 women: Shannon Bex, Aundrea Fimbres, Aubrey O’Day, Dawn Richard, and D. Woods. Together, DK released two studio albums, self titled album “Danity Kane” in 2006 and “Welcome to the Dollhouse in 2008. BOTH of their albums are certified Platinum.
Some of Danity Kane’s most well known songs are “Show Stopper”, “Ride For You” and “Damaged”, not to mention “Bad Girl” featuring Missy Elliot.

Sadly the group was dismantled in 2009 in true Diddy fashion. Diddy grew tired of Aubrey O’ Day and her “sexuality” and she was eventually asked to leave after appearing in Playboy Magazine. In addition to O’Day’s exit, D. Woods also left the group, leaving Shannon, Aundrea and Dawn to go their own separate ways.
BUT here’s where it gets interesting! Just yesterday, TMZ reported that the group may be coming back together to bring back the era of female pop groups.
Four out of Five of the members met in LA with a new manager to discuss terms of a reunion. Any guesses on what lady was not present? When I first heard of the reunion, I was almost certain that Dirty Money singer Dawn Richard would not be joining them. However to my surprise, it was actually the sultry singer D. Woods from Atlanta (sister of Young Money’s Shanell) that would not be joining the ladies at this time. But hey, anything can happen and it would not shock me if they got back together, even though Woods released these statements, after the first breakup a few years back.
“It came to an end when it needed to,” Woods told Hollyscoop during the end of Danity Kane. “There was a lot of outstanding issues and obviously that was the only way it could be resolved. I added to the group in the way that, I knew how to be a group member. I provided us with choreographers, with management, song writing, and everything that I could. But if your services are not being appreciated you gotta take it elsewhere.”
D. Woods has recently been working on her solo career, releasing mixtapes and EPs, trying to garnish fans attention. No shade, but I would love to see D. Woods go back to her roots with Danity Kane, because this solo career is going nowhere.
The group is not trying to work with Diddy and they have made that very clear. Even though Diddy named the group, they plan on using their old name. I expect Diddy to have a legal say so in that matter however.

I can’t wait to see what the group comes up with, excited is just one word that describes how I feel!
Maybe Diddy’s other super group; R&B group Day26, can take a page out of Danity Kane’s book and piece together an album. That would be something to write about then!
